Deception Island
a flooded caldera with only a small entrance to
the interior from the sea
(called Deception, since one must sail around much of the island to find the
small opening)
Deception island, was formed entirely by volcanic action
one of the abandoned research
bases
evacuated during the 1960's due to volcanic eruptions
landing of Red Coats over bathing suits, at Pendulum Cove
to enjoy the hot geothermal springs
relaxing in the pool
