In general, the subject developed by the artist of Zapotlán in the Hospicio without a doubt his better and greater work is a conceptual summary of the historical appearance of Mexico: the bloodthirsty indigenous world; the inspiration heroic and religiosity of the conquest, only equivalent to its violence; the vision of the attacked ones, the signs tutelary of the city and the forces that threaten it; the ends of the social service and the demagoguery; and the risks of the distraction and the dictatorship.
